2016 saw the median sales price for a Salt Lake County single family home rise an impressive 8.10% to sit at $295,000. While home sales prices were sharply up, the number of homes sold only showed a slight increase, rising just 1.32% with 13,954 sales. But the really impressive figure was how long it took a home to sell, which fell 38% to stand at just 13 days (median days on market).
The best performing Salt Lake County zip codes in 2016 were 84116 Salt Lake City up 16.67% and 84119 West Valley City up 15.07%. The areas that performed the worst still saw their median sale price increase, with 84093 Sandy up 3.57% and 84009 South Jordan up 3.70%.
