All zip codes in the souttern Davis County area saw their median home prices fall in the third quarter 2011. The worst performing areas were Layton 84041 down 15.67% and Farmington 84025 down 14.25%. The overall median sales price for Davis County was $195,402, down from $202,000 last year. Home sales were markedly up on last years numbers, increasing from 651 in the thrid quarter 2010, to 721 in the third quarter 2011.
Year to date data shows just how little the median home price has changed this year. The first quarter home price was $195,000, and the second quarter was $193,450. This stabilization of prices is a good sign that is prices may have bottomed, although only time will tell if this is truly the case.
