Home prices in Salt Lake County continued their upward momentum in the 4th quarter 2015, with the median sales price for a single family home climbing 5.68% to stand at $270,000. The starter home end of the market was particularly strong, with homes in the right area at the right price in high demand.
There were a total of 2,932 homes sold in the quarter which was a modest increase of 2.81%. One of the best signs of a sellers’ market was the median days on market, which dropped 39.02% to stand at 25 days. This figure shows the number of days it takes a new listing to go under contract, with the lower a figure the stronger the market.
