West Valley City History
The area that is now West Valley City was one of first areas to be settled after Salt Lake City. It was originally settled in the 1848, by pioneers pushing out from Salt Lake City. Its name comes from its location in valley, it is located to the west of Salt Lake City next to the Oquirrh mountains.
Today West Valley City is Utah's second largest city.
